2014 thus far...

Happy 2014! The first week of this year was insanely busy because my family was in town from FL! It was so great to see them again; it had been a year and a half since I saw them last! We had a blast! We went to Temple Square to see the lights, City Creek, the zoo, ate at a couple of new restaurants I hadn't been to before, and spent most of the time over at my aunt and uncle's house where they were staying (...since our apartment isn't really big enough to house that many people...).

On January 5th, Asher was blessed at church! It was a beautiful blessing that Phil gave, and the Spirit was very strong. There were several of my extended family members that were able to make it for the blessing, and then they all came over to our place afterward for lunch. It was pretty crowded in our apartment then, but we still had a great time and it was fun catching up with everyone.

Funny story about Asher's blessing... I realized that evening as I was changing Asher out of his blessing outfit that, that morning, I had put his outfit on backwards! And it had been like that for the whole day, during the blessing and all! Ah, dang it. Granted, he still looked adorable even with his clothes on backwards, but still... I guess that's the kind of thing that happens when you're a little sleep-deprived... :/

Me and my baby boy!

My mom with her newest little grandbaby.

Wiped out after a busy busy day.

Daddy and big brother are wiped out too!

The evening before my family left to head back to the sunshine state, we watched FSU play Auburn in the BCS national championship game. My family and I are huge FSU fans, being that we are from Tallahassee and all, so this was a huge deal. Growing up, we always had season tickets to the home football and baseball games, and some years we'd get season tickets for the basketball games too. We had a big ol' game-watching party, and the best part is... FSU won!!! National Champs 2013!! It was the perfect ending to the fantastic week we'd had. Hopefully we'll get to see them again before another year and a half goes by!

Go Noles!

Since then, it's been pretty quiet and not nearly as exciting around here. But I'm excited to see what the rest of 2014 brings. So far, it's shaping up to be a pretty good year!
